Change of Scenery?

Finally a blog. Well, it's been a long time.. frankly I forgot my sign in stuff and just got frustrated and embarrassed. So I dropped blogging. But in cleaning out a drawer, Voila! there's the info I wrote down. So, here's the new blog. I AM LEAVING ROSEBURG. Got a job in Bellingham and will be working for the Bellingham Herald. So there. Will I miss the 'burg? OF COURSE! Eight+ years here and there have been many people who have helped my career and my person. I can't type it all here but, there may be a larger blog later.. but here's a photo to keep you all happy...it's from Chris Anderson of the Spokesman Review. At Eugene's Autzen Stadium as WSU got pounded by the Ducks, prior to Dennis Dixon blowing out his knee.. and Oregon's hopes at a National Champ title...

I have been a bad blogger

Ok so a looooong delay between post probably makes one think I drop off the end of the world. So I did. Briefly. In Cambodia. So here's a few pics.

Reader Comments

A comment about two kids walking with crutches.

Now where else can you pick up the newspaper and see a photo of your daughter's backside on the front page? Thanks for the chuckle. -----'s Dad

Glad he got the joke.

BTW the photo won't upload. Sorry.

So damn literal!

So I chased down this guy and his church group carrying this cross. There's a wheel on the back so it rolls. It's heavy but the wheel makes it easier to carry. Then they came to an intersection and here's where the literal translation comes in. Cross-Walk.. Finally! Someone using it to its exact purpose!

Addictions

Ok, so actors have drug rehab, I have days where I try to get off the camera and just enjoy the day. And this shows up! Two kids, bored as they wait to make a river crossing with a search & rescue group exercise, fighting as jedi warriors! Oh do I have a camera? NOOOO! but thankfully a co-worker and camera buff, Evan, hands me his camera and off I go. Here's what I came up with..

Late post from No. 1

Well, it's been too long since I posted here so here's a lame excuse. I was in Cambodia most of February and most of my cards were lost nearly one week into the trip. Then, the new cards I bought failed, one there, one back here while downloading. But as many know, I posted the first group on sportsshooter.com in a gallery at the bottom of my page. I am waiting to find out if a card I sent to a recovery company will divulge the lost images. In the meantime, here's a shot I made and it ended up on MSNBC's Photos of the Week March 8-15. So go vote for it. I just need more than 12,000 votes to win.. ha! But as for other news. I won NPPA Region 11 Photographer of the Year, which is ORE, WA, BC and Alaska. So, following in the footsteps of some famous athletes, it's time to retire. You know going out at the top o my game. Yeah, Right!

The bird's the word

A fatal accident lead to this shot. Another driver made a U-turn on I-5 and drove into the couple behind the fireman. The fireman told me that as he was working on the couple in their wrecked truck, the bird kept say, "You're the Working Man. You're the Working Man." The animals, and the couple, were shaken but not hurt.

When ya gotta go

Shooting a rodeo, I went to get a higher POV as paramedics worked on a cowboy with a possible broken leg. What I got was more than I wanted to see. But hey, like I siad before, "I like Titles." So here's "Bathroom Stall"
